Twelve pairs of girls took part in a tennis fixture against Downe House School on Saturday 26th May.

As the sun was shining and the parents flocked from far and wide to support the girls, it was sure to be a fixture to remember.

The girls were separated into groups of three pairs and played each of their opposite pairs for a short set.

Despite having to contend with quite windy conditions and the heat, the girls held their nerve and played some spectacular tennis. Tea was served in the pavillion throughout the afternoon which was greatly appreciated by everyone.

In all 35 sets were played and Cheam won 33 of them.
This was certainly a proud day for the Cheam tennis girls and for their captain Poppy C.
