As Head of Pre-Prep my primary aim is to ensure that all the children in our care are happy at school and achieve their academic potential. I believe these two go hand-in-hand. We place a huge emphasis on ensuring the well-being of every child and on nurturing their individual talents and independence.

Pre-Prep

At Cheam we offer a caring environment that gives pupils support educationally, emotionally and socially. I believe that it is important to develop in children a love of learning by introducing them to a wide variety of topics, that cover all aspects of the world around them. We aim to instil in the children an intellectual curiosity, a desire to ask questions and natural thirst for knowledge.

The staff in the Pre-Prep pride themselves on finding vibrant and exciting ways to bring the curriculum to life for the children so that they are fascinated and inspired by their educational journey.

I very much look forward to welcoming you and your family to Cheam. I would encourage you to arrange a visit to both see and, more importantly, to feel in person the magic of a Cheam education.

Jenifer Hillman, Head of Pre-Prep

The Pre-Prep years

We aim to ensure that every child feels loved and supported in our friendly and warm community. We have excellent staff ratios and teachers who are positive and nurturing. We treat every child as an individual. We focus on the strengths of each child; our rules are positive, and our weekly rewards assembly reflects the importance that we give both to being part of a team and academic work. Kindness is a big theme at Cheam. We encourage each child to develop their individual personality, tackle challenges through investigation and inquiry and be ready for an exciting future with an enthusiasm for learning and the confidence to explore the world in front of them.
