Reception and Year 1 are housed in a building which was completed in September 2006.
In Reception children continue to build upon the skills they have learned in the Nursery. A great deal of individual attention enables us to accommodate the learning needs of each individual. The curriculum continues to be delivered through a lively and stimulating topic-based environment, with plenty of opportunities to enjoy learning outside as the classrooms open onto an extensive and well-planned outdoor learning environment. Here the children investigate topics such as seasonal change, simple map reading and orienteering. 
Pupils have frequent opportunities to venture into the wider world by visiting the theatre and on field trips to destinations as varied as the zoo and the local garage.
This all helps to ensure that school never becomes stale and instils an early positive attitude to education.
