Evening Activities

One of the things that makes boarding so special is the range of activities that the children can do in the evenings.

Each member of the boarding team is responsible for providing an activity for the children during the week. The range of activities is only limited to the imagination of the boarding staff!

The school facilities are used extensively. During the cooler months our huge sports hall is a favourite for the children playing all the usual games (one of the favourites is badminton), but those willing enough can play on the floodlit courts. The art room is the centre of many creative activities as well as building model boats and cars. Board games are always available as well as the latest Wii or Playstation games consoles.

In the warmer months, the children venture outside into the wonderful grounds that surround the school. Whether it is swimming, cricket nets, tennis or golf (on our 9 hole course) the children love to play outside under the supervision of the duty staff.

Most of the children get stuck into the evening activities but if they have had a busy day and just want to chill out then they can. We have rooms where the children can relax and watch TV or just wander around the school catching up with friends.

For the children in Year 8 there is the chance to do some quiet work in the revision sessions which are run by members of staff in the build up to all the exams in their last year. Other children can also catch up with work but usually this would have been completed in their prep (homework) period.
