The importance of learning not only inside the Studio but outside as well is a top priority. Once again this year all pupils had the opportunity to visit professional theatre, ensuring every child got a ticket to a fantastic show.
Last year, Year 6 saw Shakespeare's Two Gentlemen of Verona performed by a company of just two actors from Zimbabwe played in a very non-traditional and exciting township style. Years 3, 4 and 5 went to see Treasure Island, while Year 7 watched Daisy Pulls It Off – an absolutely ripping show full of topping actors and thoroughly good sorts. And Year 8 went over to Radley to see an impressive production of Les Miserables, showing that variety, and exposure to different theatre genres, is important to our programme here.
Cheam is very lucky to have the brilliant and widely acclaimed Watermill theatre so close by. Every Prep-school child has the opportunity to go there to see award-winning professional excellence on stage. We have had a close relationship with them for years through our School's Associate Membership.
